What is Mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is a non-surgical technique in which a variable combination of vitamins and enzymes is injected into the middle layer of skin (mesoderm) to brighten and tighten the skin and remove excess fat. It may be combined with hyaluronic acid or mesobotox for additional benefits.

What Are The Benefits of Keeping Hydrated?

Proper hydration is important for every system in the body. If you are well hydrated, your heart doesn’t have to pump as hard to keep blood flowing through arteries and veins, and it helps the muscles to work more efficiently. Staying hydrated can also lower high blood pressure and flush out allergens and toxins.

Water can also improve the appearance of your skin (the largest organ of the body) by keeping it supple and plump, and reducing dullness by removing and releasing dead cells.

What Are The Benefits of Hyaluronic Acid?

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance that contains vitamins and antioxidants that help with tissue healing and stimulate the production of elastic and collagen. Along with that, it binds water molecules and helps skin hold onto moisture, keeping it fresher and more radiant in appearance.

What is Mesobotox?

Mesobotox typically refers to a more diluted strength of standard BOTOX. While BOTOX is used between the brows and in the forehead, mesobotox smooths wrinkles in the central part of the face for a smooth, refreshed look.

How Is The Mesotherapy Procedure Performed?

During your consultation, Dr. Fechner will determine the optimal treatment area and whether the addition of hyaluronic acid or mesobotox would give you the outcome you envision. The technique involves injecting very fine, short needles under the skin to deliver the “ingredients” in your customized treatment.

The length of the needles determines how deeply they will penetrate, and this, too, is variable. In some instances, Dr. Fechner may perform one injection at a time. If the area to be covered is larger, he may choose to use a device with multiple needles that inject the solution to a wider area simultaneously.

What Is The Downtime And Results, And Are There Side Effects?

The downtime is only 24 to 48 hours, allowing time for the minimal side effects to subside. These may include:

  • Redness
  • Swelling or bruising
  • Tenderness at the injection site(s)
  • Tingling or numbness

Results are both immediately noticeable and progressive.

Why Choose Dr. Fechner for Mesotherapy in the Worcester area?

As a highly respected, double board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Fechner has performed more than 10,000 facial procedures and is on the faculty of Harvard Medical School, where he shares his expertise by educating plastic surgeons in training. When these tiny muscle groups are carefully targeted, the area relaxes and the skin smoothens, creating a softer and more youthful look. It takes about three days for the results to become evident. To maintain the smoother, fresher look will require re-treatment about every three months.
