What Is Kybella?
Kybella is an FDA-approved, non-surgical treatment for submental fullness, also known as a double chin. Its active ingredient is deoxycholic acid, a molecule that occurs naturally in the body and aids in the breakdown of dietary fats. We carefully inject Kybella into the layers of fat underneath the chin, targeting fat cells for destruction. This results in a noticeable reduction in submental fullness as the destroyed fat cells are absorbed and removed by the body. This is a minimally-invasive treatment with very little recovery time. We use Kybella to treat varying quantities of submental fullness. Because patients with more fat under the chin may require more treatment sessions than patients with minimal fat, our practitioners individually tailor a customized treatment plan for each Kybella patient.
