What is retinol?

Retinol is a derivative of vitamin A.

What are the benefits of retinol?

Retinol is one of the most powerful anti-aging ingredients to help re-texturize skin and dramatically reduce wrinkles, retinol has many benefits including, clearing up acne, reducing fine lines, pore size and hyperpigmentation.  Retinol also helps build collagen.

What is the difference between retinol cream and Retin-A /Renova?

Retin-A and Renova are Vitamin A and is available by prescription and tends to be a bit more aggressive than retinol. Retinol is a derivative of vitamin A and it is a bit more suitable for those with sensitive skin. Retinol products tend to also contain moisturizers or emollients to reduce the possibility of irritation.

How often should I use retinol?

Retinol is recommended to be used 3 times a week at first, if you feel that your skin is becoming irritated from the product then we recommend cutting it down to just a couple times a week, your skin needs to get adapted to retinol and at first you will experience some irritation and dryness.  After months of using retinol we would like to see you use this once a day.

Are there any products I should use with retinol?

Yes, retinol should be used with a vitamin C product, because vitamin A and C work hand and hand together. We recommend you use either Dr. Fechner’s C-Silk or the CEGA 50. This should be applied to the skin on the days you are not using the retinol cream.

Where can I buy Retinol?

Before you purchase a retinol product you should always see a skincare specialist to make sure you are a candidate.  Retinol is a stronger product and it comes in many different strengths. We recommend making an appointment to visits with one of our Medical Estheticians Jennifer, Tabitha or Sonia and they can design a skin care regime prefect for you.

How is your retinol differet from others?

  • Our retinols have EXACT percentages.
  • Our retinol is stable, meaning the formula is less likely to breakdown due to the packaging, our retinol is package in airless pumps and the serum formula is oxygen stable for that reason.
  • Our retinol has a very short ingredient list, the shorter ingredient list the less likely you will get irritation.
  • Our retinol has no alcohol, fragrance, dye or plant essentials oils/extracts.
  • Our retinol contains vitamin C and E.
